PENNSYLVANIA
RENAISSANCE FAIRE
Saturday, October 30th,
2010
The day before the last day
The Pennsylvania
Renaissance Faire is located in (kinda) east-central PA,
about 24 miles east of
Harrisburg at exit 266 off the PA Turnpike,
or about 20 miles north of Lancaster
(and US30) on PA72
Also located on
the site is the New Hope Winery.
It's rather hilly, so make sure you have good walking shoes on,
or a good charge
on your wheelchair,
as I've seen many people having theirs pushed to get out.
It's still rather easy to walk around, as much of the walkways are paved.
The site covers about 35 acres, with plenty of parking.
Being that the Faire runs as late in the year as it does,
and it is open till
8pm,
the atmosphere takes on a completely different look once the sun goes down,
especially after the time change and a chill is in the air.
The last day is an especially good day to go,
people are still coming in at
6pm.
They have a great auction at the pirate ship on the last day too,
i
picked up a nice Braveheart sword for 50 bucks!
The above shot is from
that auction.
The Ghostbuster guy made his own backpack and did his own
electronics!
Left, the kissing bridge being used :-)
The fellow on the left shows up tomorrow as a wizard!
The Faire folks picked another outstanding Queen this year,
played by Katherine Campbell.
My daughter patiently waiting for dinner :-)
