I Can't Protect Myself!

I heard this one from a buddy of mine at work, Joe.  He told me about an incident that happened to his cousin many years ago.

His cousin was at a shopping center with his wife.  All of a sudden, three thugs came out of no-where, and demanded money and whatever else they thought they could get away with.

Unbeknown to the three guys, Joe's cousin was a black belt.  He beat the shit out of all three, and paralyzed one of them for life.  Was it fair.... three to one?  Seems to me the fact that he was a black-belt helped to even the odds in an otherwise unfair world.

Well, he wound up in court, and the asshole judge fined the living crap out of him for beating up these guys.  It took him years to pay off the fine.  The judge said that his hands should be registered as a lethal weapon, and furthermore, said that he should have taken off running if he didn't think he could hold himself back.... TO LEAVE HIS WIFE DEFENDING HERSELF against three thugs.  Asshole.

It just ain't right.

We are now seeing judges and juries make judgments against people defending themselves in their own homes.  What the f**k is wrong with these officials and people?

We are headed for big trouble if we can't even protect ourselves or our homes (if we're not already there!).
