RAILROAD SIGNALS of the U.S.

POLL RESULTS

Back towards the end of July, 2005, I got the bright idea for a poll to see what people's favorite signals were.  The poll was posted on the Yahoo Railway Signaling group page.  It ended on August 31st.  There were a total of 76 people participating.

There were four OTHER votes for signal style.  One was for tilting targets.  One was for GRS searchlights of the NYC with the small background (included in searchlights).  One was for the cast iron version of the B&O CPL's (included in B&O CPL's).  One was only identified as foreign, but I received no email for his choice.  And speaking of foreign signals, I'm kinda surprised we didn't receive more votes for them, because there are some really cool looking signals out there.

I also got one OTHER vote in the manufacturing section, and that was for Federal.

B&O signals took an early lead.  They were overtaken by semaphores until the end, when searchlights crept up from behind at the last minute to garner the most votes.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote.
