RAILROAD SIGNALS of the U.S.
the SYKESVILLE TRAIN
The "Sykesville Train" was purchased by a local resident and "donated" to the city of Sykesville for kids to enjoy. The train was supposedly purchased from a mall in Harrisburg 10 years ago or so. I believe the train is 12" gauge, but I have to check on this, as my memory suffers from CRS. Please don't whine when you get there and they tell you only kids can ride it.
There's plenty more to see while you're here in Sykesville, so don't forget to check out my Sykesville page HERE, and if you're hungry, you got two very good places to eat, Beck's (a restaurant/pub), and Baldwin Station, which is housed in the old B&O depot. If you love Lionel trains, you gotta check out Purkey's.
If you came to this page via one of the search engines because you "Googled" Sykesville Train, looking for railfan info on Sykesville, this page will come up instead of the railfan page... make sure you visit my Sykesville page HERE for the information you are looking for... thanx, you're almost there! :-) :-)
Left is the shed the train is stored
in,
The welcome sign,
The station,
And the ticket booth on the right.
