They say the 30KW generator is powered by a 50HP motor,
Does anyone out there know the rules???
If not, let me remind you of one simple fact:
ONE HORSEPOWER = 746 WATTS

That means it takes 7,300 MORE watts going into the thing, than you get out of the thing

People, please save your money, time and effort and go buy a nice Generac Generator if you need back-up power

DO NOT buy from these people!!!
Buy from AMAZON Instead

And avoid yourself the agony and stress.

The Following 14 Reasons Are Why:

1)  On their homepage, their own words state that this cable box is ready to tune into all signals:

Think for a minute what OUT OF THE BOX means to you???

OUT OF THE BOX means to me just that, everything is included in the box and I can plug it in and go.... no muss, no fuss.... boom, it's working, nothing else is needed to be done....  If you don't agree with me, then by all means, go and buy this converter from these people, because you won't mind getting screwed over....  but wait for 2-14, there's lots more!

THIS IS A COMPLETE LIE.  It's not mentioned until you read all of the small print that you discover that out of the box ALSO involves calling your cable provider, and it's not until you go elsewhere do you also discover that most cables companies will resist you adding the box to their system, and you will spend untold calls and hours on the phone trying to get them to allow the box to be activated!!!

2)  Their quoted price over the website and telephone is higher than what you can buy it from Amazon for: $210 vs $160..... and that's after a supposed $100 rebate, plus shipping... but wait, the farce doesn't end there, check out #4 below!

3)  If you order COD, they WILL NOT disclose the fact that they are going to charge you a $10 COD fee.

4)  They do not disclose the $25 packaging and processing fee anywhere, and the thing is already packaged as it comes from the manufacturer, so this is also a bogus charge, intended to screw, the customer, out of another 25 bucks, and that's only if you can get them to take the thing back... but beware of #6!!!

5)  If you order over the phone, they will tell you the cost of the cable box is $210, plus $35 shipping fee.... that is total bullshit and you WILL NOT get anywhere close to $210 back, even if you can get the mo-fo's to take it back..... and the following copy of their shipping invoice will show you why:

6)  THERE ARE SO MANY GOTCHA's on their homepage and ordering page, that they make virtually impossible for you to return the unit for any reasonable reason you might have..... reasons that you would be able to return it to any other legitimate business.

7)  Even if you email them for an RMA, they will not oblige.

8)  The date code on the box says it was manufactured in 2002. As a result of this, the contained DVD player does not support many of the current formats.

9)  It is not known at this time whether or not Motorola will honor the warranty on an item that has been sitting on the shelves for so since the was made 7 years ago.....

10)  The information in the manual states it can receive both analog and digital signals, but the one received WOULD NOT TUNE INTO THE DIGITAL channels above 125, or even try, it would fallback to an analog channel... at least the boxes leased from the cable company will show that channel on the screen, even if you can't receive it and you get a message that says you need to subscribe to that service.

11)  Because of item 10, it is unclear whether or not this will work on digital channels below 125, as commonly found on FIOS networks such as the one Verizon offers, which are ALL digital and contain no analog signals.

12)  If you order by credit card, it looks like you DO NOT get the $100 "discount", presumably because they know you can challenge the charge on your credit card and they will not get their money in the event you are not a happy camper!!!

13)  They have taken the time to write their website so you, the customer, have virtually no recourse to return the unit and get your money back in the event you are not satisfied, so avoid the headache and everything else that goes along with ordering from these people, and order the box thru Amazon.

14)  If you call the listed number below for tech support, you will get a message that says to check the support2009 website, which for most of us, doesn't do jack shit for help.... don't waste your time calling the number!!!!

The only positive thing I can see about buying this box is the amplifier section, but I have not run tests to confirm if the five amplifiers can be run at 100watts RMS at the same time without getting distortion or clipping. although at 35 pounds, one would think the power supply is capable of it, and the only reason I say this is because both Motorola and RCA pioneered many of the audio amps of the 60's and 70's, and THEY both have excellent reputations..

I bring this information to you as a public service, for we should try to weed out the unscrupulous vendors on the market.... my neighbor went thru this and asked if there was anything I could do to help other people from getting fraked over.  We do not condone the theft of service from anyone.

PS, in case you are not as Sci-Fi / Battlestar Galactica fan, frak is the same thing as that other commonly used 4 letter word F**K.
